'The Executioner' is a post apocalyptic sci-fi western set in the future where every town has an 'Executioner'.
The year is 2178 and every town has an executioner. The story opens on 2 characters in a desert wasteland; one, the soon to be executed and the other our hero, a nameless Executioner. The Executioner’s days seem pretty run of the mill until a stranger from another time graces his doorstep. His inclination is to not help the stranger but he begrudgingly does, always cautious to not say too much about life in this time zone for fear of who might overhear. His lifestyle makes him wary to make new friends because they always seem to end up at the other end of his gun. We sense a definite unexplained sadness about him. He seems to prefer the lonely life out on the edge of nowhere … as long as he has his gun.
The Executioner is an allegory about our misanthropic soul that is wary to let people in and sometimes it seems the only way to keep people out is to keep the walls built up around you. This way you are always safe.
